Capricorn Caves

Capricorn Caves

We decided to stop of at Capricorn Caves for a look through. They had a range of tours that would suit the more adventurous. We did a short hour tour with the kids which suited us. It was hard telling the kids to not climb over the limestone rocks after clambering over rocks at the beach the previous day. It was beautifully lit up inside which made it all the more magical. Weddings are sometimes held here and we can see why as the acoustics were fantastic. Zeus was able to be left with the camper trailer outside the grounds so we didn’t miss out.

Our Accommodation

We found a beautiful free camp about 15 minutes away from the Caves. It was listed as Alligator Creek (Flood Road) on Wikicamps  It is a small spot that is a short drive from the highway. We were lucky that it was only us there and we parked ourselves right by the creek bank. We ended up staying for 2 nights here as we needed a bit of chill time. The north side of Rockhampton is close enough to explore from here also.
