I remember sitting in a coffee shop with my sister talking about my desire to travel around Australia. I grimaced as I looked over at my daughter, in her Elsa dress, sipping on her babychino. She was afraid of animals and cried if insects got too close. She disliked walking on grass as she hated the loose damp blades sticking to her feet. She was not an outdoorsy kid in the slightest and hated getting dirty- I carried a packet of wipes with me at all times to prevent meltdowns. Her preferred inside activity at home was helping clean. There were even days she refused to sit and eat at our dining table until it had been wiped over and cleaned properly. I sat there wondering how she would cope.
2 weeks into camping I took this photo. She is completely the opposite to her former self. She loves exploring the outdoors and is a lot more adventurous.
Travelling Australia might be the best thing we will ever have done for our kids – no regrets!
Haha I remember you and your Mum bringing Madz to our place on the farm so she can see all my chickens and poodle puppies. At first she was very wary of them all but it didn’t take her long to pick up a puppy and also try to pat the chicken in the coop.
Kids have the biggest of imaginations and I’m sure Madz just needs a little reassurance at first and then she’s fine once she realises its safe and fun.❤️❤️
Yep she even takes our dog for a walk now. Well he takes her for a walk. Haha They have definitely got closer since being outdoors together all the time.
